BioTech Company Needed Next-Day Color Printing
Pyramid Printing + Graphics provides printing services for a number of biotech firms in the United States. These firms often have mission-critical rush jobs involving complex case report forms for drug submissions for FDA approval.

A local BioTech firm contacted their rep here and alerted him that they would have artwork for a job at the end of that same day and needed it printed overnight.

We were motivated to provide the client with the digital printing solution to get the job done, but they wanted it printed using an offset press. The rep recommended producing a blueline proof and a digital print with the Xerox iGen and having their very meticulous creative director make the final approval. However, if we were to go with a blueline, the time involved would mean we would have to work all night, escalating labor costs, and face a daunting schedule the next day just to find drying time for both sides of a 4/4 job. All this would not allow time for trimming, press checks, and slipsheeting. It would take up most of our resources, increase client costs, and slip the deadline in the event of any errors or changes.

The client was pleasantly surprised with the digital press results. They ended up having a lot of changes at the last minute that did not pose a problem because we proofed the job five times on the iGen press and were able to produce the 4,000 double-sided pieces in hours instead of days.

We are very pleased with the production coming from this printer and its advanced Xerox printing technology. In this case it provided definite advantages that enabled us to come through for our client.

High-Tech Company Rush to Produce Marketing Materials

Pyramid Printing + Graphics handles projects of all shapes and sizes. We enjoy catering to clients who come to us with a laundry list of needs and a challenging deadline. In this particular case, we had to produce the following in under ten days, including design and layout time, which was divided between their designer and our staff:

  • Business Cards
  • Letterhead
  • Envelopes (accounting and business)
  • Mass Mailing Printing and Mailing Service
  • Large Format Printing (Banner, Foamboard, Plastic Imprint)
  • Forms
  • Tradeshow Brochures
  • Tech Docs for Software Product
  • Posters
  • Postcards
  • Copies of Marketing Plan

This was at a time when our presses were booked solid. Since we knew this client from a previous company and appreciated their situation, we knew that the effort would be worthwhile.

We were given a brief on the trade show and the branding guidelines we would need to work with to produce any additional artwork their staff would not be able to complete in time. Their designers would initially send us the files we needed to start first. The files that we could print last would be delivered and approved last. This method was more exhausting for both the designer and the driver, who had to run the files up and down the freeways, but it had to be done.

This project required almost every piece of digital equipment that our company has acquired in the past ten years. Our staff worked faster and longer hours than we believed possible in order to complete the project and make all deadlines. The new tech firm had its business cards ready for all the staff departing for the trade show, and all materials needed for the opening were shipped to Atlanta for the fabricators to pick up and arrange in the booth.

There’s never a normal day at a printing firm like ours. This type of project comes in more times than expected, and we are always ready to respond.
